MA Anna-Kaisa Rastenberger is an art historian and currently engaged as a researcher in the project “The making of Polar Stars - The internationalization of Finnish photographic and video art”, a collaboration between the Academy of Finland and the Finnish Museum of Photography. In the research project she has been preparing her dissertation, in which the main focus is on the discourses of internationalization of contemporary Finnish photographic art.
Rastenberger works also as a lecturer in Helsinki University and free lance art critic. Previously she has worked as the editor-in-chief of KUVA (image), a Finnish magazine of visual culture. She has also been employed by Helsinki City Art Museum and The Finnish National Gallery. Anna-Kaisa Rastenberger will start as the chief curator at the Finnish Museum of Photography April this spring.
